1. Patch test 48 hours before each application by placing a small amount of mixed tint behind the ear.
2. Apply petroleum jelly around the brow and eye area to protect skin from staining.
3. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of Apraise tint and an equal amount of Apraise Developer into a mixing dish, mix well until a smooth paste forms. We recommend the Dappen Mixing Dish (https://sable.co.nz/products/dappen-mixing-dish) for clean, controlled application.
4. Apply to brows or lashes with a tint brush, avoiding contact with the skin where possible.
5. Develop for 5 to 10 minutes. The longer you leave it, the more intense the colour. Remove with a damp cotton pad.

Pro tip: For a more natural look on brows, leave the tint on for the shorter end of the developing window (5 to 7 minutes). For dramatic lashes, push to the full 10 minutes.

Pro tip 2: Want to mix and match shades for a custom look? Add additional Apraise Tint tubes to your order in different shades and blend at the mixing stage. Many of our clients use one shade on brows and a slightly darker shade on lashes.

Are Apraise products vegan and cruelty-free?
Apraise products are all cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians, however, some products contain Beeswax and therefore are not suitable for vegans.

When should a patch test be done?
Patch tests with Apraise products should be taken 48 hours before each tinting appointment.

How long will the Apraise tint last when applied?
Apraise eyelash and eyebrow tints last up to 8 weeks, depending on how the application reacts to the hair. The treatment can be repeated on a regular basis.

What shade should I choose for my hair colour?
Graphite 1.1 for very dark or black hair, Blue Black 2 for cool-toned dark brunette, Dark Brown 3 for classic medium brunette, Light Brown 3.1 for soft brunette and dark blonde, Chestnut 4 for warm or auburn-toned hair. If between two shades, choose the lighter option for a softer, more natural look on brows.

Is the colour that comes out of the tinting tube the end colour?
No. The tint needs to be mixed with the developer to achieve the correct colour.

How can I protect my skin from staining?
When applying Apraise to either eyelash or eyebrow, always apply petroleum jelly around the brow and eye area to protect against staining. Avoid direct contact with the eyebrow and eyelashes as these will then not be tinted.

What is the correct developing time for tinting eyelashes and eyebrows?
Developing times are between 5 and 10 minutes. The longer you leave the application, the more intense the colour will be. For natural brows, lean towards 5 to 7 minutes. For dramatic lashes, push to the full 10.

Can I tint my eyelashes at home safely?
Yes, when used as directed and after a patch test 48 hours prior. Keep the tint off the skin and out of the eye, develop for the recommended time, and remove with a damp cotton pad. Avoid for 24 hours if you have any open cuts or eye irritation.

How often should I retint my brows or lashes?
Most people retint every 4 to 6 weeks for brows and 6 to 8 weeks for lashes, depending on how fast your hair grows and how often you wash your face vigorously.
