Hello all our new friends
Over the last few months our online store has grown so much and now we have lots of new great people supporting Sable! So I just wanted to take this time to say hi, and thank you, its wonderful that you are here (and reading this, even when blogging isn't my strong point).
With so many salons and online stores out there, I thought I might take this time to talk a little more about us.
Sable opened in 2006 (we just celebrated our 11th birthday in August). Brendon and I have worked with each other for 19 years and we have been a married for 3.
The online store was born out of building our own website and discovering the ability for an online store. I thought - sure, why not and with the first few months I knew we were on to something special.
We have a pretty small team at Sable and thats what I love about us. We all do our own cut and colouring and our own shampooing. When you book with us, you get us. Thats some of the most common feedback we get from new clients. No one likes been passed on from staff member to staff member.
We are curating our online store based on products we love and products we think you need. We have recently changed all our basin stock to Oribe. Not only are the bottles beautiful but they work! I have never used shampoo and conditioners before that makes you feel like you have already put blow waving products in when you dry the hair off. I can't forget to give a shout out to Olaplex which we also use in salon. Olaplex is a game changer. Do I need to say more. As for products we use for blow waving and styling we have our tried and true favourites. These include Sebastians Texturiser, Davines All In One Milk and their More Inside Curl Cream, Moroccanoil, O&M Frizzy Logic and finishing off with L'Oreals Infinium Hairspray. And I can't forget Super Dust!! We have been religiously using Cloud Nine Irons for years and earlier this year we replaced some of our hairdryers to Cloud Nines Airshot. I don't think we will turn back now. The Airshot hairdryer is light, easy to use and I am loving the cool shot button.
Another thing I am passionate about it supporting other small businesses. This year we have managed to change lots of products to NZ owned businesses. These include - Ritual Tea (a company that is proud to use only Fairtrade and organic tea based in Petone), West Coast Cocoa (yes we found a NZ hot chocolate company, made in New Plymouth and works closely with farmers to improve agricultural, social and environmental practices), and Santosa (there’s nothing toxic or unpronounceable here – simply honest ingredients to nourish and detoxify your body + home). Even better is these are all available to order from our online store.
Trying to keep our ear to the ground we have also found you some wonderful products you didn't know you needed in your life. Introducing to you Silke Turban Hair Turbans - a 100% silk hair wrap to protect your hair from damage that causes breakages, thinning, hair loss, frizz and split ends, while you sleep. Louvelle Shower Turbans - your blow dry will emerge frizz free with this shower cap created from stretch, quick dry fabric with waterproof lining. And our newest hair range is R&Co (using unique ingredients and complexes to make sure that each product delivers true benefits).
One of our most asked questions is 'Are any of your products tested on Animals?' And the best answer we can give is no - with the exception of L'Oreal and Sebastian. Neither of these companies do but with further investigating you will find because they supply their products to China - the Chinese test them.
And we are always on the look out for more wonderful products.
So thats us. Thanks for reading xxx
